i did extensions at the first salon i worked at. You are probably losing hair in only one area due to stress or vitamin defficiency. if you get extensions with your hair in a fragile state, you make worsen the problem...if hair is fragile the extra weight of the false hair may create even more shedding. My advice is to see your doc and check for anemia....drink lots of water....and prenatal vitamins are formulated in a way that makes hair grow faster so if you start now u may be able to get part of the situation fixed. If not, a better (and cheaper) option may be to find a place that sells hair pieces that you can clip into your updo..i have seen some beautiful ones that matched so well you would never know. A good hairstylist will be able to help. As for the cost of extensions depending on where u live, anywhere from 500-4000 dollars.

For bonded strand-by-strand extensions, I usually charge between $800 and $1500. That is for human hair.
