How do they sew in the extentions? How long does it take? Do most salons use human hair? Does it hurt? What are some good tips to take care of them? How do they sew hair extentions in your hair?
they braid your entire head into rows that are about 1/4 in. thick.
the weave is sewed into the braids using a curved needle and thread that matches the color of your extensions. almost all salons use human hair. The process takes 4-6 hours and last up to 2 months or longer depending on your hair growth.
if the braids are tight it will hurt. but most of the time it doesn't. your neck and shoulders will be sore. but this is only temporary.
You should always wash, condition and moisturize your hair, including your human hair extension every 2 to 3 days. Your hair extensions will not receive the natural scalp oils so you will need to add moisturizing to your routine. If you do not remember to moisturize your hair extensions, they will become brittle which can cause them to break easily, leaving you with ratty and split ends.
ask your salon stylist for more details.
good luck :]How do they sew hair extentions in your hair?
Although everyone has a different technique to sew-ins, basically they cornbraid the hair and sew the extensions on top of the braid with a curved needle and a thick strand of thread. I've had this done twice in the salon and twice I've done my own. You can get your whole head weaved, or just a few tracks in the back if you want length.
It doesnt take long, majority of the time is just getting your hair braided. In the salon it took about 3 hours, which is the average time you're in the salon for anyway. Some salons offer a selection of hair but then the total cost can be pretty pricey. Its best to buy your own hair, then you can wash it, doobey it, etc. before you go in. No it doesn't hurt at all, but it can be a little tight when they sew it, depends on who's doing it.
You can get human or synthetic, curly or straight and you take care of them the same way you take care of your own hair, using the same styling products. (side point: human hair can get split ends from heat stylers like curling irons, just like your real hair can). Its easier to wash your hair by having the salon do it.
You have many options. It boils down to your budget and how much you want to spend. You can find a salon who will do everything for you and pay an arm and a leg, or you can bring your own hair and just have someone put it in.
They use special thread and a needle to sew in the extensions. The length of time it takes depends on the amount of extensions, and the way they are sewn in. And there are many other types of extensions, other than those that are sewn in. Either way, it can take several hours.
If you have a sensitive scalp, it might cause some irritation where the extensions end and pull a bit. You can get human hair, or synthetic hair, and a professional can help you decide which is best.
To take care of them, make sure to wash your hair gently, and rinse them very well. With care, your hair extensions should last a few weeks. Good luck.
